What makes us human?

 To me philosophy is somewhat similar to physical science while psychology is also similar to neuroscience. Philosophy & psychology deals mainly the central ideas whereas physical science and neuroscience deals mainly technical /experimental part.

Brain is not everything! Without the brain you can still perform some activities like drawing your hand out when touching hot pan or vomiting. We were told humans are materialism. The mind is the brain which controls our body.Without the brain there's no as such as consciousness. Psychologists and neuroscientists doesn't simply believe immaterialism such as angels or life after death.

Your left brain is responsible for spoken skills, written skills,number skills, logic skills and reasoning skills. Your right brain is responsible for imagination, 3D views, insight, music awareness and art awareness.

Your left brain see the whole image of the right brain and vice-versa. For eg. if there is projection of flash light in your right hand side, the left brain will speak first in the twinkling of an eye without even understanding what it is.

Subcortical structures(Center Brain) :

1.Medulla:

responsible for automatic functions like breathing, blood pressures, etc

2.Cerebellum:responsible for balancing the body

3.Hypothalmus:responsible for feeding and sex and for different appetites.

But these is not what makes us human!

What make us human is cerebral cortex!

Fish don't have any cerebral cortex, birds and reptiles have a little bit, but primates, including humans, have a lot.

Cerebral is mainly responsible for language and reasoning. This is where we develop learning new languages.You might wonder how can we understand these part of brains are responsible for this or that. The answer is simple!

We detected by using fMRI scans or PET scans or natural experiments like when someone got accidents there is some part of brains damage.

For instances, aproxia is the disorder of actions(difficult to wave goodbye), Agnosia is the disorder of patterns(unable to recognize faces), aphosia is the disorder of communication.
