HISTORY OF THE EARTH'S MOON

Image
The giant-impact hypothesis, sometimes called the Big Splash, or the Theia Impact suggests that the Moon formed out of the debris left over from a collision between Earth and an astronomical body the size of Mars, approximately 4.5 billion years ago, in the Hadean eon; about 20 to 100 million years after the Solar System coalesced. The colliding body is sometimes called Theia, from the name of the mythical Greek Titan who was the mother of Selene, the goddess of the Moon. How do Thunderstorms form?

Image
On a hot summer day the surface of the Earth is heated by the sun. The Earth's surface heats the air just above the surface through the process of conduction. The action of warm air rising and cold air sinking (convection) plays a key role in the formation of severe thunderstorms. If the warm surface air is forced to rise, it will continue to rise, because it is less dense than the surrounding air. In addition, it will transfer heat from the land surface to upper levels of the atmosphere through the process of convection. Two of the most important ingredients for thunderstorm formation are instability (unstable air) and moisture.

WHAT IS THE AURORA BOREALIS?

Image
The Vikings believed that the lights were reflections of the Valkyries' armor as they marched towards Odin. Some Inuits thought that the lights in the sky were the spirits of their ancestors dancing and the Greeks associated these lights with bad omens. Whatever the meaning the ancient people attributed to the lights, the Aurora Borealis is a sight to behold. With the advancement of the sciences, we know that the Aurora Borealis or the Northern Lights are caused by the Earth's atmosphere interacting with charged particles from the Sun during a solar flare. As the particles from a solar flare reach Earth, they are channeled along Earth's magnetic fields towards the North and South poles. These particles then interact with the atoms and molecules in our atmosphere, exciting and causing them to release photons. These photons are the lights that we see in the sky during an aurora. Their southern counterparts are known as aurora australis.

VENUS:MORNING STAR ⭐🌠

Image
Venus is the second planet from the Sun. It is named after the Roman goddess of love and beauty. As the second-brightest natural object in the night sky after the Moon, Venus can cast shadows and, rarely, is visible to the naked eye in broad daylight.Venus lies within Earth's orbit, and so never appears to venture far from the Sun, setting in the west just after dusk and rising in the east a bit before dawn. Venus orbits the Sun every 224.7 Earth days.

~𝔸𝕤𝕥𝕣𝕠𝕄𝕦𝕠𝕟  𝕂𝕦𝕜𝕚 Scientific method consists of observation, conceptual ideas, hypothesis, theory, prediction, and experimentation. If the theory doesn't meet with experiments more data should be collected or get discarded it however if the theory satisfy experimentations more predictions will be done. Sciences like chemistry/ biology are confined within a laboratory. Almost all the experiments/observations are carried out inside microscopic level with the help of instruments like microscopes. Errors and limitations can be detected easily in this case. However, in case of astronomy experimentation is done through observation at a distance of light years or astronomical unit between two bodies in a universe with the help of instrument like telescopes. For example, Galileo Galilei was the first person observing the night sky to support the heliocentric model or Copernicus model meaning all the planets revolve around the Sun. IMPORTANCE OF SCIENTIFIC KNOWLEDGE FOR YOUTH

Image
📝AstroMuon Kuki🚀🛰🛫 The present era is the era of science. Science has undoubtedly done a great service to mankind. Man, a rational being, has been curious to explore mysteries of nature and this led to many discoveries being made in various part of the world. But he is never satisfied with the acquired knowledge and is always keen to unravelled mysteries of the universe. He has conquered the land and air. His incredible lust for knowledge has revolutionised human life and raised the standard of life.He was able to invent innumerable ways of making his life comfortable and happy. Every sphere of life has been revolutionised by science. Science asks numerous questions, would it be possible to walk through walls? To build starships that can travel faster than the speed of light? To read other people's minds? To become invisible? To move objects with the power of our minds? To transport our bodies instantly through outer space? Where did the universe come...

How to discover planets?

Image
Two techniques that have enabled us to discover planets around other stars: 1.The first is to look at the star and see if the amount of light coming from it is constant. If a planet moves in front of the star, the light from the star will be slightly obscured(to make hard to understand). The star will dim a little bit.If this happens regularly,it is because a planet's orbit is taking it in front of the star repeatedly. A second method is to measure the position of the star accurately. If a planet is orbiting the star,it will induce a small wobble(to move side to side) in the position of the star. This can be observed again,if it is a regular wobble, then one deduces that it is due to a planet in orbit around the star. (N.B.These methods were first applied about twenty years ago and by now a few thousand planets have been discovered orbiting distant stars)

DIE EMPTY

Image
One of the most beautiful  book to read is "Die Empty" by Todd Henry. The author was inspired and got this idea of writing this book while attending a business meeting. When the director asked the audience: "Where is the richest land in the world?" One of the audience answered: "Oil-rich Gulf states." Another added: "Diamond mines in Africa." Then the director said: "No it is the cemetery. Yes, it is the richest land in the world, because millions of people have departed, "they have died" and they carried many valuable ideas that did not come to light and benefited others. It is all in the cemetery where they are buried." Inspired by this answer, Todd Henry wrote his book "Die empty." Where he did his best to motivate people to pour out their ideas and potential energies in their communities and turn them into something useful before it is too late. The most beautiful of what he said in his book is: ...

An Exchanted Village

Image
An enchanted village in the countryside Hunky-dory throughout the seasons Though Knuckling the hardships. Eagerly waiting to heal her dysphonia She is still awaiting an answer To rescue from her destitution. Exasperating and perplexed For the cutthroat of unscrupulous Petrifying for none trustworthy. Hoorah! there are few people like diamond Pull all the nighters for the dawn to come Yearning to arise high above in the sky. Unforgettable vibrant village Never attempt to fade away from us Gaze upon for thy descendants Isn't time for us to live in oneness? Oh yeah! hear thy voices A million hopes is yet to achieve it.

Is there a God??

Image
We were told that you never get something for nothing. But now, after a lifetime of work, I think that actually you can get a whole universe for free. The great mystery at the heart of the Big Bang is to explain how an entire, fantastically enormous universe of space and energy can materialise out of nothing. The secret lies in one of the strangest facts about our cosmos. The laws of physics demand the existence of something called ‘negative energy’. To help you get your head around this weird but crucial concept, let me draw on a simple analogy.  Imagine a man wants to build a hill on a flat piece of land. The hill will represent the universe. To make this hill he digs a hole in the ground and uses that soil to dig his hill. But of course he’s not just making a hill – he’s also making a hole, in effect a negative version of the hill. The stuff that was in the hole has now become the hill, so it all perfectly balances out. This is the principle behind what happened at the begi...

Space Travel is No Sunday Picnic🚀

Image
✍AstroMuon Kuki🚀 As the old Chinese proverb says, the journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. The journey to the space starts with the very first rocket🚀 History reveals that scientific revolutions come in waves, often stimulated by advances in physics. In the nineteenth century, the first wave of science and technology was made possible by physicists who created the theory of mechanics and thermodynamics. This enabled engineers to produce the steam engine, leading to the locomotive and the industrial revolution. In the twentieth century, the second wave was spearheaded by physicists who mastered the laws of electricity and magnetism, which in turn ushered in the electric age. This made possible the electrification of our cities with the advent of dynamos, generators,TV, radio, and radar. The second wave gave birth to the modern space program, which took us to the moon. In the twenty-first century, the third wave of science has been expressed in high tech, spearheaded by t...

Orion Nebula – Messier 42

Image
The Orion Nebula is a famous diffuse emission/reflection nebula located in the constellation Orion. It is also known as Messier 42 (M42) or the Great Orion Nebula. Its designation in the New General Catalogue is NGC 1976. The brightest stars in the nebula form an asterism known as the Trapezium Cluster. These young stars are responsible for most of the nebula’s glow. The Orion Nebula is one of the brightest nebulae in the night sky and, lying at a distance of 1,344 light years, it is the nearest region of massive star formation to Earth. It can be seen without binoculars, and its brightness and proximity make M42 one of the most studied objects in the night sky. The nebulous region of M42 is easily seen through binoculars or a small telescope. The best time of year to observe the nebula is the winter, during the months of December and January, when Orion constellation is high in the sky. Astronomers studying the nebula have learned a lot about the formation of stars and...

OUR EDUCATION SYSTEM KILLS US!

Image
School/uni syllabus are seems to be designed only for getting jobs(as far as my knowledge)😑 Not much helpful for getting knowledge. When we think of acquiring ocean of knowledge it is must for us to read beyond syllabus.Your syllabus won't help you alot in your life.In India, only those who could get high grades are considered one of the brilliant minds.Having said that,it is not hard to get high grades at the same time if you could grasp/by-heart whatever taught by the teachers. The teachers don't pay attention for knowledge only what they care is end of the months just to collect for salary. We should be aware that even the topper doesn't have profound knowledge. They are just doin'  anything for getting high grades. My question is,what is the point of giving ourselves pressure and tension in our mind while chasing our dreams?Being a learners,we must have freedom to learn freely for anything. We should learn to know how to enjoy our life with books. Most teachers/profs...
