Charles Darwin as youth

Growing up as a child at age fifteen. Charles Darwin's father rebuked him with words the young boy will never forget. โ€œYou care for nothing but shooting bugs, and hunting rats, you will be a big disgrace to yourself and your family.โ€

His father was a successful wealthy doctor who placed a high hope on him, he tried his very best to put him in the right direction. He sent him to medical school in Edinburgh. The young boy couldn't stand the sight of blood, so he drops out. His father again secured a position for him in the church, and he will be well paid. Darwin had to enroll in Cambridge University to be able to meet the position requirement. He once again shows less interest in formal education.

Charles Darwin doesn't like studying, and he hates memorizing things in school. He enjoys doing the outdoors and loves wandering around and exploring nature.

He could spend many hours observing birds and taking huge notes of their differences. It excites him since it was way different from memorizing things in booksโ€ฆ He loves reality.

However, his father thought he had finally gone crazy because such a hobby does not add up to any career. His father feels more concerned about him. How would Darwin make a living and maintain the family reputation? He had dropped out of school on several occasions. Nonetheless, he had tried his best.

After, he managed, to earn a bachelor of art in May 1831. One afternoon, he received an offer from Prof. Henslow to travel on a ship voyage across the globe. โ€œHis task was to collect life and mineral specimens.โ€

His father was totally against the offer because it will sabotage the position he had secured for him in the church. He decided to turn the offer down. A few days later, the young man thought about this voyage traveling, the more he thinks about it, the more it sounds good to him, the more it interests him. He changed his mind and decide to accept the offer. He appeals to his father, and he wrote to the captain of the beagle, named Robert Fitzroy.

After four years on the Voyage to finally returned home in 1836. Charles Darwin's head has become bigger, his whole manner of speaking has become different, sharpness of purpose has sprouted out within him. His father could sense it. The voyage has transformed him, not only in body but in spirit. Finally, his father was happy for him.

Charles Darwin is an English naturalist, geologist, and biologist. He died in 1882.

Darwin is best known for his contributions to the science of evolution. Darwin has been described as one of the most influential figures in human history.
